Rise and Shine: The Early Bird Gets the Cool Air
My day as an HVAC technician at Lea Heating & AC starts bright and early. I’m up at 6 AM, grabbing a quick breakfast before heading out to our first service call in Algonquin, IL. The summer heat is already building, and I know it’s going to be a busy day keeping our customers cool and comfortable.
Morning: Tackling Air Conditioner Repairs
Our first stop is a residential home in Carpentersville, IL. The homeowner reported their AC unit isn’t cooling properly. After a thorough inspection, I discover a refrigerant leak. I explain the situation to the customer and get to work repairing the leak and recharging the system. It’s satisfying to see the relief on their face when cool air starts flowing again.
Midday: HVAC Installation in Elgin
Next up is a new HVAC installation in Elgin, IL. This is a bigger job that takes most of the afternoon. My team and I work efficiently to remove the old system and install the new one. We ensure everything is properly connected, calibrated, and running smoothly before wrapping up.
Afternoon: Air Conditioner Service Calls
The rest of my day is filled with various AC service calls across Hoffman Estates and Sleepy Hollow. These range from routine maintenance to minor repairs. Each call is an opportunity to:

Evening: Wrapping Up in West Dundee
My final call of the day is in West Dundee, IL. It’s an emergency service for a family whose AC stopped working during a heatwave. I’m able to quickly diagnose and fix the issue, leaving behind a very grateful household.
As I head back to the Lea Heating & Air Conditioning office, I reflect on another successful day of keeping our community comfortable. It’s a challenging job, but the satisfaction of helping people and solving problems makes it all worthwhile.
