Rise and Shine: Ready for HVAC Action
As the sun peeks over the Sierra Nevada foothills, I’m already up and preparing for another busy day as an HVAC technician at A & A Heating. Our company serves Grass Valley, Nevada City, Alta Sierra, North Auburn, and Auburn, CA, so I never know exactly where my day will take me.
7:00 AM: Morning Briefing
I arrive at our office in Grass Valley for our daily team meeting. We discuss the day’s schedule and any urgent calls that came in overnight. Today, I’m assigned to an air conditioning installation in Nevada City and an AC repair in Alta Sierra.
8:30 AM: AC Installation in Nevada City
My first stop is a beautiful home nestled in the trees of Nevada City. The homeowners have decided to upgrade their old system to a more energy-efficient model. I spend the next few hours:
- Removing the old unit
- Installing the new air conditioner
- Connecting and testing the system
- Explaining the new features to the homeowners
1:00 PM: Lunch Break
I grab a quick lunch at a local deli in Nevada City before heading to my next job.
2:00 PM: AC Repair in Alta Sierra
My afternoon task is an air conditioner repair for a family in Alta Sierra. Their unit has been making strange noises and not cooling effectively. After a thorough inspection, I discover:
- A worn-out fan belt
- Low refrigerant levels
- A clogged air filter
I replace the fan belt, recharge the refrigerant, and install a new air filter. After testing the system, it’s running smoothly and quietly.
5:00 PM: Wrap-up and Paperwork
Back at the office, I complete my service reports and discuss the day’s work with my supervisor. We also review tomorrow’s schedule, which includes an air conditioner service in North Auburn.
6:00 PM: Heading Home
As I drive home, I reflect on another satisfying day of helping our customers stay comfortable in their homes. Working for A & A Heating allows me to use my skills to make a real difference in people’s lives, and I’m looking forward to what tomorrow brings in the world of HVAC.
